Published on the occasion of one of the largest retrospectives devoted to the legendary singer and performer’s artistic output, the monograph presents the multifaceted nature of Dylan through a wide range of artworks, ranging from oil paintings, acrylics, watercolours, ink drawings, pastel and charcoal, and a series of iron sculptures.
Through eight thematically-divided sections (Early Works on Paper; The Drawn Blank Series; Revisionist Art; The New Orleans Series; Ironworks; The Beaten Path; Mondo Scripto; Deep Focus) and the essays by Shai Baitel, Alain Elkann, Anne-Marie Mai, Greg Tate, Richard Prince, Bob Dylan and Caterina Caselli, Retrospectrum marks Dylan’s life-long journey of creating visual art in an original a visual diary documenting the transformation of the sources and styles that have inspired and influenced Dylan over the years.
